What a Vehicle History Report Really Tells You

Buyer's GuideAugust 20, 2026 5 min read

Title status, accident records, service history and odometer readings — and what matters most.

A vehicle history report is one of the most useful documents in a used-car purchase, but it is often misread.

Title status A clean title means the vehicle has never been declared a total loss. Salvage, rebuilt and flood titles all affect value and insurability.

Reported accidents Not every accident is reported, and not every reported accident is serious. Look at the severity and the repair records that follow it.

Service history Consistent maintenance entries are a strong signal of a well-kept car, especially on performance and luxury models.

Odometer readings Cross-check the mileage at each service entry. Inconsistent readings are a red flag worth asking about.

Every vehicle we list is inspected before it reaches the site, and we provide the documentation we hold on request.
